Unit 8 The Three Gorges说 课 稿

一、教材分析
1、教材的地位:Unit 8 The Three Gorges 是湖北省中等职业学校教材《英语》(下册)的一篇阅读课文。该篇课文主要介绍了长江三峡的位置和它的长度;三个峡的特征;葛洲坝的位置和其年均发电量;三峡大坝的位置、长度、高度、水位、发电量以及建坝的原因。
2、教学目标:
  知识目标:理解课文内容;学习掌握介绍长江三峡的特征及三峡大坝的方法。
   能力目标:(1)提高学生的阅读理解能力。
            2)激发学生的学习兴趣,培养其创新思维和实际运用语言的能力,使学生能够用流利的英语向游客介绍自己家乡的水库、水电站或者景点。
情感目标:(1)通过形式多样的教学活动,培养学生丰富的想象力和学习英语的兴趣,帮助他们树立学习英语的自信心。
2)培养学生了解家乡、歌颂家乡、热爱家乡,将来为建设家乡做出贡献的思想品德。
3、教学重难点:
1)教学重点:了解三峡的位置、 三个峡的特点以及三峡大坝的概况。
2)教学难点:根据图表提示复述课文;模仿课文用英语介绍家乡的水库、水电站或者景点。
二、学情分析
 本节课学生学习的难点是如何用英语介绍家乡的水电站或者景点。要让学生顺利地完成写作任务,就必须引导他们弄清课文内容,掌握课文中介绍大坝的方法。为此,在理解和巩固课文阶段,我采取了游戏、讨论、小组竞赛、采访、评价等形式多样的活动来极大地调动全体学生的学习积极性,让他们对整篇课文的脉络有一个清楚的认识,熟悉课文中介绍三峡大坝的方法,为模仿写作打下良好的基础。在写作阶段,我采取了学生汇报和评价活动。最后经过老师点评,学生们进一步修改、整理,这样他们就能轻松地完成写作。
三、教法和学法
   为了改变以往阅读教学课就是老师讲学生听的传统教法,在教学中,我采取了形式多样的教学方法来帮助学生更好地理解课文。
1)在导入课题阶段,开展竞猜游戏的活动:通过播放世界上的七大人造奇观和三峡大坝的影片,让学生们猜猜他们是什么,引入课题,激发学生兴趣,鼓励学生揭开其神秘面纱。
 (2)在略读课文阶段,开展有趣的游戏活动:让六名好、中、差的学生到讲台上,依次判断真假,其他学生做裁判。这样既活跃了课堂气氛,又检测了学生对课文的理解程度。
   3)在细读课文阶段,开展小组讨论活动:把全班分成六个小组讨论根据课文设置的表格内容,每个小组讨论老师所指定的内容,然后由各小组推举代表来完成表格内容。该活动培养了学生的合作意识。
4)在巩固课文阶段,安排了三个活动:快速问答的竞赛活动;采访活动;复述课文的活动。这些活动有助于培养学生的团队合作精神;提高学生的口头表达能力。
5)在写作阶段,安排了学生的评价活动:让学生按照他们所在的乡镇组成四个代表队,讨论他们家乡的水库、水电站或者景点,并拟出草稿,然后每个队选派一名代表上台汇报。其他同学根据老师给的评价标准,为发言者评分。这样可以有意识地培养学生正确的评价能力。
四、教学步骤
Step One. Daily Report
          The teacher asks a student to introduce the scenic spot he visited.
In order to attract the Ss’notice and make preparations for this class,I arrange such activity.
Step Two. Leading in   (T=teacher  S=student)
   Activity 1: Playing a game
   The teacher plays the seven wonders in the world to let the Ss watch ,then have a guess game: Do you know what they are .
Activity 2: Discussion
Divide the Ss into several groups to discuss the following questions.
1.Do you think what and where the largest man-made project being built in our hometown now is?( The Three Gorges;in Yichang)
2.Why is it built?
 T: Good, today we are so lucky to have a chance to read something about “The Three Gorges”. (show the Great Dam of the Three Gorges on the screen)
In this way,I encourage the Ss to express their own opinions free .At the same time,I lead them into the topic of the Three Gorges naturally.
Step Three. Fast reading
T: As we all know, the workers are building a famous project---The Great Dam of the Three Gorges. Do you want to know something more about it? Now open your books at page 99,read the passage quickly and answer the following questions.If you find the answers, put up your hands. OK? (show the map of Yichang City on the screen)
1.Where is the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River?
2.Where is the Gezhou Dam?
3. Where is the Great Dam of the Three Gorges?
Allow the students a few moments to find the answers, then check the answers together.
 Step Four. Careful reading
 Activity 1: Playing an interesting game
     The teacher lets six students(They are excellent,average and poor students. )come to the techher’s desk and stand in a line.Teacher gives some statements to ask the Ss one by one to decide whether the statements are true or false.If this student’s answer is right ,other students say “Pass,pass,pass.”He /She can go back to the seat.If this student’s answer is wrong,other students say “Remain, remain,remain.”He/She has to wait to answer the next sentence.
   The class is pretty active in this activity ,and teacher also checks the students’comprehension.
 Activity 2: Discussion
Divide the students into six small groups and let them discuss the contents in the form according to the teacher’s request.Then a student elected by each group finishes the form.
 Help the students understand the details of the text further and lay the foundations for retelling the text.
Step Five. Consolidation
 Activity 1: Competition
 Divide the students into four groups,each group has two chances to ask questions.Anyone who asks or answers the qestions can get a point for his group.The group which gets the most points wins the competition.
  Bring up the students’sense of the competition.
Activity 2: Interview
 Get the students to find one in each group to interview the others. Encourage some students to interview the teacher.The teacher offers some questions and answers.
   Enable the students to use English knowledge they learned better.Besibes,activate the students one another.
 Activity 3: Retelling
 Get the students to retell the text according to the form.
   Train not only the students’spoken English but also their ability of summarizing the text.
Step Six. Writing
 Activity : Competition and estimation
   Divide the students into four teams according to their own towns and ask them to talk about the reservoir,the power plant or the scenic spot in their towns,then each team recommends a spokeperson to introduce it.When a student is speaking,the others give him/her a mark according to the estimation form the teacher gives out.The best one will be awarded.
 Improve the students’cooperant spirit and train their ability of estimation.
Step Seven. Homework
1.     Do Exercise 2 at page 104.(translate the Phrases)
2.     Write an English composition about the reservoir ,the power plant or the scenic spot that you know in your hometown.
教学效果预测:
首先,良好的课堂导入是整个课堂成功的一半。它能够紧紧抓住学生的心理需要和兴趣,使课堂教学更加具有趣味性和艺术性。“教有趣,必乐学”,当学生有兴趣时,他们学得最好。
其次,教学内容的多样性是整个课堂成功的关键。当教学内容能够用多种形式来呈现时,学生学得最好。
然后,最大程度把课堂交还给学生。当学生能自由参与探索与创新时,学生学得最好。
最后,积极的评价和竞赛,充分体现学生的主体地位。当学生受到鼓舞和被信任时,他们学得最好。
因此,我认为这节课学生们很感兴趣,也能够很好地理解课文内容,而且能模仿课文来介绍他们家乡的水库,水电站或者景点。
  教学反思:
这节课以激发学生学习英语的兴趣为着眼点,重在培养学生乐于接受新鲜事物,勇于尝试创新的精神;体现课堂教学中“主体者的身份,积极主动参与教学环节,成为学习的主人;培养学生了解家乡、歌颂家乡、热爱家乡的真挚感情。
我在阅读教学中始终坚持导入---略读—精读---复述课文等环节。在具体的教学过程中,重视学生的听、说、读、写技能的培养。为了培养学生观察生活的能力,每次上课前我利用2-3分钟的时间,让学生轮流做值日报告,把自己看到的或者感受最深的人、事物或地方,用英语介绍给其他同学,为老师做课前铺垫。在导入新课时,我安排了一个竞猜游戏和一个讨论活动。首先利用生动有趣的英语影片(世界上七个最大的人造工程)来引导学生轻松地进入竞猜游戏中,大大激发了学生的学习兴趣。然后抓住契机提出两个问题让学生讨论,这样就巧妙而自然地过度到了新课《The Three Gorges》。在进入新课之后,我设计了快速阅读和细读课文两个步骤。快速阅读时,设计了三个问答题,鼓励学生运用他们学过的速读技巧,来查找问题的答案,初步了解课文中三个地点的位置。细读课文是本节课的重点,目的是让学生有充足的时间,更细致地了解课文内容,学习介绍三峡大坝的方法。我便设计了一个判断真假的游戏题和一个填表题。这样的设计照顾到了各个层次的学生,无疑大大调动了他们学习英语的兴趣,对于引导学生把握课文的重点并深刻理解课文的细节也很有帮助,通过讨论,使学生弄清了大坝的基本情况以及修建三峡大坝的原因。阅读之后,紧接着安排了一个竞赛活动。我把全班分成四个组,让各组之间就课文内容相互出题,这样同学们可以从自主学习到合作学习,从而促进共同学习,有利于攻破难点。在学生完全理解了课文内容之后,我便设计了一个采访和复述课文的活动,旨在锻炼学生的口语,体现了师生互动和生生互动,同时为下一步写作奠定基础。最后,我设计了成果展示活动,即学生谈论自己家乡的水库或者水电站。先让学生按照他们所居住的乡镇自由组合成四个组,然后谈论在他们家乡的水库或水电站,并且要求以小组为单位,每组派一名代表作口头汇报。因为通过学习课文,学生已经学会了介绍水库或电站的方法,只需要根据实际情况在位置、大小、水位和修建原因等方面做相应的变化,而且他们对自己家乡的每个地方都很熟悉,所以他们介绍起来应该比较顺利。用分组比赛的形式有利于激发学生的参与热情和兴趣,通过听、说、交流达到同步练习口语和听力的目的。作业的布置是完成课文后面的词组翻译和自由写作。这种安排既照顾了学困生又培养了优等生和中等生的写作能力和创新思维能力,也有利于培养学生了解家乡、歌颂家乡和热爱家乡的真挚感情。
